Featured Resident Artist: Leonid Goldin

Leonid Goldin started painting at the age of 71 and is now a devoted and prolific artist. Originally an economics professor and economist in Latvia, he and his lawyer wife, Leona, now live in North Hollywood where he attends as many EngAGE painting classes as he can, just to have company when he paints. Leona both inspires him and advises him and, although she does not paint, is very interested in his work. He likes to paint landscapes and also scenes from his home and places where he has traveled. The paintings below include scenes from Jerusalem, Israel, and Riga, Latvia. (Please click on each picture to enlarge it.)

  1. Judy Donofrio says:

I live at the Dorado in Buena Park.
I really like Leonid’s style. Does this mean anyone can take painting classes at the Burbank Artists Colony? What might other eligibility requirements be? Thanks.

  2. Hi Judy,

Please check with Robin Hart about existing art classes at Dorado or a near property or to ask her to organize one

By the way, Leonid does not live at the Burbank Senior Artists Colony and as far as I know does not teach, as he does not speak English. I will certainly let his wife know that you like his painting style – they will both be happy to hear that.
