KCET provides the story of “Christmas Tree Lane: The Origins of a Southern California Tradition.” Today, it’s one of the oldest Christmas lighting spectacles in Southern California and draws thousands of visitors during the weeks that the lights are on. They are traditionally lit in early December, stay on through January 1st, then are lit again for people of Eastern Christian traditions who celebrate on the Feast of the Epiphany.
