News from Magnolia @ Highland: Masks for the Senior Olympics Art Competition

Regional Programs Director Alma Wright reports on an exciting art project at the Magnolia at Highland Senior Apartments in San Bernardino: “Another epic art project, six months in the making! Self-Portraits in Sculptures (papier-mâché). They layered and layered, sanded, sculpted, and painted until they were satisfied with their creations. The class was forced to take a hard look at themselves throughout this project. They complained and joked about their less than perfect features along the way, but in the end it was a lesson on dignity, pride, and self-esteem. I’d say they’re ready for the Senior Olympics Art Competition next weekend!”

Fabulous!
