Talented Artists at Magnolia@Highland and LBSAC Share Their Work

Two recent art shows, one from Magnolia@Highland and one from LBSAC are featured today. Take a look at some great photos and an entertaining video!

From EngAGE Vice President Nancy Goodhart and EngAGE Regional Programs Director Alma Wright:

This spring, EngAGE had the opportunity to partner with CSUSB (Cal State University of San Bernardino) to bring a 7-week art course to The Magnolia@Highland. The course was taught by Art Instruction students, and incorporated art appreciation and practice. It has been an exciting time for these residents. They have enjoyed learning about art, and trying a variety of media and techniques such as perspective drawing, monochromatic painting, sculpture, and even screen printing.

On June 10th, the participants had their own art show to showcase the pieces they created during the course. EngAGE’s Vice President, Nancy Goodhart was in attendance, as well as CSUSB Head Art Instructor, Annie Buckley. Everyone enjoyed background music, refreshments, and most of all…they got to thank their young teachers for introducing them to so much art in so little time! [Click on the photos to enlarge them.]

Helene Weinberg, EngAGE Creative Programs Director at LBSAC sent this video of “A Show of Hands” art show that took place on May 13th.
