Native American Video Game Tells Traditional Stories

WRITINGA group of Alaskan natives have partnered with a game developer to tell traditional stories from their own point of view. Of particular interest is that the story includes the experiences of elders:

“‘Never Alone’ is based on a traditional story known as ‘Kanuk Sayuka’ and the experiences of Alaska elders, storytellers and VIDEOGAMESyouth. The story follows a young Inupiaq girl and an Arctic fox as they go on an adventure to save her village from a blizzard that never ends.”

This must certainly be a first in more ways than one: the perspective of an indigenous people has never before been explored in a video game, nor has the perspective of elders.
