News from NoHo Senior Arts Colony: Reader’s Theater

In North Hollywood, CA, we had another successful performance by the North Hollywood Senior Arts Colony Reader’s Theater in January. The performance was an extension of their American Humor show last fall, and it was as popular as the previous one! Swarms of laughter came from the crowd and everyone enjoyed themselves very much.

Reader’s Theater leader Naomi Monroe said, “Some of the pieces we did had been chosen last time but eliminated then due to the length of the show. There is a treasure trove of material on American Humor. We try to keep the performance to one hour and have focused on comedy. Readers bring in material to read with the emphasis on the theme. We generally are four weeks in developing a script. Then we all read through the script together, followed by rehearsals. We rehearse until a performance hour is ready. It is a great example of the arts process for the community.”

Congratulations to Reader’s Theater for another great evening!
