SUNDAY 1/28 @ 5:30 PM PT
STEVEN HANCOFF
RAFTING THE BLUE NILE
Host: CYNTHIA FRIEDLOB

STEVEN HANCOFF was on our show last year talking about his fascinating career as a musician, a self-taught guitarist. For fifteen years, he toured the world – about 50 countries – as an official Artistic Ambassador representing the United States for the State Department presenting our traditional music, from Ragtime to Tin Pan Alley.

He also created a project entitled, “Bach, Casals and the Six Suites for Cello Solo,” which includes a stage presentation, recordings of the music as transcribed for acoustic guitar, and a four-volume interactive iBook.

In addition to his love of music, Steven loves adventure, specifically river rafting. His latest trip was with a small group assembled by Sierra Rios, a river conservation organization: a demanding and exciting month spent rafting the Blue Nile river in Ethiopia – 540 miles. A few photos are below. Info about Steven’s previous interview here.
