News from Pacific Avenue Arts Colony: Growing Together

What better way to bring generations together than with a community garden?

Learning to grow, and learning to grow together, starts with a seed of sharing.

Master Gardener, Elizabeth Sala came to Pac Arts in San Pedro, CA, to share her expertise on best gardening practices. Three generations were represented at this meet up in October, including Frank, who just celebrated his 70th birthday; Trayson, who is a high school student; and Barbara who is somewhere in the middle.  The meet up group learned how to nurture the soil for specific plants, how to cut back growth, and when to plant and harvest.
