Magnolia at Highland: Art Show – June 8th

For the last 3 years, EngAGE has been partnering with the Art Instruction Dept. at CSUSB (CalState University of San Bernardino) to bring 7-week art courses to the residents. These courses are part of their Spring Service Learning Class and Community Outreach Program. The courses are taught by CSUSB art students, who are guided by their instructors. The students come up with a curriculum and lesson plan, and present it to EngAGE for consideration. Then the students get to teach our residents and learn from them. A great example of inter-generational programming and a win-win situation for all involved!

This year, CSUSB was able to bring the residents not one, but two courses: a beginner painting class, and a reflection project using the concept of mirrors.

The participants’ pieces will be on display for their friends and neighbors next week.

Please join us for the show! ~ The Magnolia at Highland Senior Apartments, 2196 Medical Center Dr., San Bernardino, CA 92411.
