MARCH 19, 2017 @ 5 PMPT
BILL THOMAS, MD
with host TIM CARPENTER

DR. BILL THOMAS is an author, entrepreneur, musician, teacher, farmer, and physician whose wide-ranging work explores the terrain of human aging. Best known for his health care system innovations, he is the founder of a global non-profit (The Eden Alternative) and The Green House Project, both of which work to improve the care provided to older people. Dr. Thomas also developed the Senior ER model of care and is now working to transform the acute care services provided to elders.

Dr. Thomas starred in the 2014 Sundance award-winning documentary, Alive Inside, “a joyous cinematic exploration of music’s capacity to reawaken our souls and uncover the deepest parts of our humanity.” He has been traveling the country since 2014 starring in what he calls his Age of Disruption Tour, a “nonfiction theater performance” that has played in over 80 cities. He describes it as kind of like a TED Talk on steroids. Experience Talks host Tim Carpenter appeared as part of the first tour when it played in Portland and Los Angeles. You can follow Dr. Thomas online at his ChangingAging.org blog and learn more at his website.

In this program from our 2012 Audio Archives, host Tim Carpenter talks with Bill Thomas about his career and his novel, Tribes of Eden.
