Audition Opportunity for Steve Harvey’s New Show: “Little Big Shots: Forever Young”

EDIT: EngAGE has nothing to do with the production of this show! If you are interested in being a contestant, please contact the Senior Casting Producer, Kim Clevenger, at  kimclevengercasting@gmail.com

Want to be a show biz star? Helene Weinberg, Program Director at Long Beach Senior Arts Colony, reports that recently she’s been in touch with the casting director of NBC’s new spinoff show hosted by Steve Harvey called, “Little Big Shots – Forever Young.” They are seeking seniors 65 + with BIG personalities and special skills/talent. Helene told the casting director that LBSAC has a talent show scheduled in their theater on Thursday, February 16th @ 7pm, and they will video the performers that evening for audition submissions for the show.

If you don’t have a handy local talent show coming up, you can still make your own video and submit it from wherever you are. You don’t have to live in the LA area! Here are the instructions:

We are excited to pitch your act to the network for consideration on Little Big Shots – Forever Young! We look forward to receiving your home video submission to get to know your personality and hear a little of your backstory. We want to give you the best possible chance of making the show, so have a lot of energy and enthusiasm – really let yourself shine! It is also important to have the best quality video possible, so please tape in a quiet location with great lighting and a nice background. If you need technical support, please ask a friend or family member to help you! A great cameraman can make all the difference in the world.

Here are a few of the questions we would like you to answer during your video:

Please give us a lively introduction with your name, age and where you live.

Tell us about your special talent, how long you’ve been doing it, and how you started.

What did you do for a living when you were still working (if you are retired)?

Tell us about your family.

Do you have special hobbies and interests that make you uniquely you?

Give a “shout out” to Steve Harvey! Let him know you’re looking forward to being on Little Big Shots – Forever Young.

Tell Mr. Harvey what skill or life lesson you’d like to teach him when you come on the show, since he’s just a youngster at 59!

Do one more great introduction at the end since you’re all warmed up now.

Say “Goodbye” to Mr. Harvey and let him know you look forward to seeing him in LA!

Be sure to turn your phone long ways if you’re using your camera phone to tape your video. We want full landscape view, not the skinny strip of video!

Please upload videos to You Tube or Vimeo and send us the links. Do not edit or add effects – we have a pro in LA that will select clips and polish them for the presentation! You can also send via large file transfer service like Hightail, We Transfer or Dropbox.

Please send recent photos of you displaying your talent, as well as a nice individual shot of your face. If your act is a group, please send group photos. If you have additional performance videos, please send us those video links as well.

Thank you again for your interest in participating in the show! Let us know if you have any questions, and please send your videos in the next two weeks. If you need additional time, please let us know ASAP. We look forward to seeing your video!

Best of Luck!!  Send submissions to:

Thank you for your comment, but we’re unable to help. We don’t have anything to do with the production of the show. The auditions we were promoting were for older adults, an age group that lives in our apartment communities. Please contact the show directly to find out about an audition for your granddaughter. Good luck!

Mr. Harvey, I have been watching your new show, Forever Young. I’m 80 years young, have been practicing the Martial Arts for the last 58 years. After getting discharged from the Air Force in 1958 I joined a Judo club in Kenosha, wi, Studied & competed in tournament for 4 years. I than moved to Warner Robins, Ga where I had been stationed at Robins Air Force base, & was able to go on base & use the gym facilities. One day while practicing Judo I met 2 Korean Air force exchange students & they where practicing Korean TaeKownDo Karate. We became great friends & began teaching each other our individual martial arts. For the last 40 years I have taught thousands of students & promoted over 500 to the rank of 1st degree Black Belt. I still compete in tournaments, mostly to show other “older seniors” that it’s never to late to get off of the couch & get back in shape. I would love to come on your show & put together a self-defense skit & maybe break some boards & cement blocks. Sincerely, Robert (Bob) Likes

  11. My name is Steven Schwartz, I was the inspiration for the Patrick Swayze part in the movie dirty dancing. I have been described in various books as well as having performed as the lead dancer in a video with Barry Manilow called Hay Mambo. I am an 80 year old retired businessman living in Boca Raton Florida. I started dancing professionally at the age of 16 working for the Tisch family at their first Hotel Laurel In The Pines in New Jersey in 1953. While performing in a show at the New York Roseland I was hired to work at Grossingers, the premier hotel of the Catskill Mts the place the Dirty Dancing story actually took place. My business was construction and real estate. One of my more notable properties was #1 Times Square, where the new year’s eve ball drops. In 1982 and in 1983 I change the ball to the Red Apple. I have had a very interesting and varied career including businesses in Saudi Arabia and Europe as well as the Songwriters: Hall of Fame with Dick Clark as my partner I have been married for 60 years and have two daughters and two grandsons. The above are only a small part of the exciting life and career that I have had. I have photos and videos if needed. My professional name was Steve Sands. In Tito Puentes book on page 177 I am known as best dancer.

  12. Chicky Peluso says:

My legal name is Frances D’Antoni but my stage name is Chicky Peluso & I have been using my stage name since the age of 4. I still sing professionally & have a 6 piece, awesome band. Past experiences: I came in third on the Original Amateur Hour with Ted Mack as host. Performed weekly with various stars at the Hippodrome Theatre. Won every contest I entered. Performed with Louie Prima, Johnny Desmond, George Jessel , Professor Irwin Corey & best of all , in my early 30’s, I sang in the Penthouse of the Baltimore Playboy Club. I did a 2 week performance with none other then Richard Pryor. I was asked to travel on tour but I had two girls & didn’t want to have anyone but me – raising them. One of the biggies was the opportunity to appear on the Carson show but turned it down along with doing the Playboy Circuit (traveling.) Couldn’t do it because my girls came first. I’m still singing – professionally. I do standards, R&B with a hint of jazz. Everyone is pushing me to contact you – so I am. Would love the opportunity to show the world that even at my age, I still have it. I hope you give me this chance. By the way, I’m 80 years old.
