How One Community in Massachusetts Is Preparing for a “Major Demographic Shift”

“David Stevens, executive director of the Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging, estimates that by December, the number of adults age 60 and older will be greater for the first time in recorded history than the number of people age 20 and younger. ‘There is going to be a sea change in terms of service, response and needs in many towns,’ Stevens said.” Click here to read more.

Do you know what your city or town is doing to prepare for an aging population? Individuals can do only so much, then government and non-government agencies need to  step in. You can check online or with your elected representatives to find out more. Then, get involved if you feel you can offer useful input!
