Tim Carpenter, Founder and Executive Director of EngAGE, is in San Francisco at Encore 2016: Celebrating the Encore Effect, along with almost 500 other leaders who believe in the power of experience to address social issues. The participants represent different perspectives and come from a wide range of sectors — nonprofit, government, higher education, business, faith-based, and social enterprise. The annual conference gives them an opportunity to share ideas, and this year they’ll be discussing four themes: navigating the changing media and communications landscape; considering purposeful aging as a model for a new life course; mobilizing Encore talent for youth; and exploring the successes and gaps of the Encore movement. We’ll follow up with the insights this valuable conference will provide.
