Among the iconic Hendrix threads Braun created was his Woodstock outfit and a jacket that hangs with his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame display in Cleveland.” Braun worked with his partner, Toni Ackerman. “It was the perfect storm,” said Braun. “Two crazy people making crazy clothes for a guy who was crazy enough to wear them.” Read more here.

You’re right! That’s a direct quote from the Tampa Tribune article, and I didn’t double-check the date. Thanks for the correction.

Does anyone have information as to what Toni Ackerman is doing? I would love to see if she is still in fashion?

  3. admin says:

No presence online for Toni Ackerman. Found this interesting article about the house where Braun and Ackerman lived, but she declined to comment on it: “Tampa mansion that was once a celebrity fashion factory is for sale”

Who made jimis shirt for the live in Maui show?

  6. Shawn Henry says:

Carl Songayllo, did you ever find out? I thought his shirt in the Maui show was so cool. It looked like Silver medallions with Turquois stones embedded on top. I would love to get a copy of that to hang on wall or wear.. Very stylish!

Jimi Hendryx’s outfit on stage at Woodstock was made by a three-man collective called WISDOM And FOLLY based in Los Angeles. They were gay. One of them, Dennis, was a Native American. He was my lover for some time. they stayed for three months in my loft at 26 Bond Street when they came to NYC. Jimi came for at least three fittings. He was one of the ni=cest musicians I had ever met.
