Jay Moss: Sculptor Has Solo Show at 91

ARTFrom the NY Times: “After a lifetime of making sculptures in his spare time, Mr. Moss is enjoying the spotlight at his second-ever solo exhibition, at Manhattan College in the Bronx. Although he was always serious about his art, it took a back seat to his day jobs — as an artist for the NBC television network and, later, as the owner of a design firm that started with decorative mirrors before shifting its concentration to lamps and lighting fixtures.”

From an article written by his son for The Jewish Daily Forward: “Now 91, freed from the need to earn a living, and able to give his mind time to focus on what it sought to express — the horror of war and evil in general — he’s been sculpting more than ever. This has led to his first show in New York City, at Manhattan College in Riverdale. Forty-two of his sculptures are on display at the college’s O’Malley Library until December 16.”
