Joe Orrach: “In My Corner” at the Pasadena Playhouse

Joe Orrach - In My Corner

Our friend Joe Orrach will reopen the newly re-designed Carrie Hamilton Theatre in the Pasadena Playhouse with his one-person show, “In My Corner,” from May 15 through May 31. Thursday-Sunday Performances. Ticket info here.

IN MY CORNER is a coming of age story about a young boy in a Puerto Rican/ Italian household, is told through spoken narrative, Latin jazz, tap dance, song, and boxing.

“GO AND ENJOY…. Orrach is an instrument onto himself, who masterfully merges the rhythms of the boxing ring with the rhythms of the ballet studio. His performance is faultless, and like fine jazz gives the audience the sense of having partaken in a sophisticated improvisation… Chechik brings a strong visual style that provides the show with moments of entrancing beauty.”
– Working Author

“Joe Orrach’s ‘In My Corner’ is a knockout”
– Contra Costa Times

“In My Corner… would be merely a tour-de-force if it weren’t so close to the bone… It’s truly a show, continuous entertainment, its infectious spirit telegraphed by the rapture of the performer.”
– Berkeley Daily Planet

“Orrach is an electrifying performer”
– East Bay Express
