The very active intergenerational program at The Piedmont connects senior resident volunteers and neighborhood 5th grade students to create art, history and socio-cultural community projects. The current project focuses on potting plants together, and learning the importance of healing herbs and edible flowers.
Juggler Scott Siegrist came to Long Beach Senior Artists Colony to promote his Alzheimer’s Awareness campaign, as he demonstrated “contact juggling” and traditional juggling, then coached a hands-on juggling workshop. Scott is currently on a walking and juggling tour from Mexico to Canada.
